Verification with your City
Once you’ve decided in broad lines what the scope of your project is, you need to bring your Certificate of Location with you to your city and verify with the Urban Planning department that your project is feasible and meets with city by-laws before even contacting a contractor or an architect.
Choose a Contractor
Now that you have an idea of what the municipal laws will allow, you’ll want to have an idea of costs – and this is where we come along! In order to build a home addition, Quebec laws require you to work with a “Licensed General Contractor” licensed in the following categories: Small Buildings and Buildings of all kinds. Not only do we have the appropriate licensing, but we’re able to give you a general idea of costs with a quick on-site meeting, letting you decide if the project meets your budget.
Get an Estimate
By meeting one of our qualified project estimators, we can provide you with a “free verbal estimate” based on the exact details of your project and a job-site analysis. Our professional estimators are able to also fully council you on the best options and choices of supplies for your specific needs. We’ll email you a copy of the estimate and work with you to find the best solution.
Sign a Contract
When you’re ready to move forward (with Westside Renovation of course), then you need to sign a contract. Our contracts include Architectural Specifications that detail all the supplies and payment installments by construction level. (from foundation to roof). Before you sign anything, we email you the contract to verify the details, and then if any adjustments need to be made, we’ll update the terms and set up a meeting to sign.
Deposit & Scheduled Date
Your contract can only be signed once you present a building permit as well as confirmation from a financial institution of an approved loan. Once it has been signed, a start date is agreed upon and a deposit equivalent to 10% or an amount not exceeding our Licensed contractors bond must be given. After that, you just need to sit back and relax and let us work our magic. Once the project is complete, don’t forget to leave us a review on Google. We love reviews!

Planning alternative accommodations during this time is best for your comfort and safety.
