In recent years, there has been an increasing of foundation problems appearing in the likes of cracks, structural sinking, basement flooding, etc...
To prevent such problems from happening, here are a few important points to pay attention to, when setting in a concrete foundation to your home addition:
- Quality concrete footings & walls should be a minimum of: 25 MPA. Metal rebar should be inserted in the concrete footings and concrete walls.
- IMPORTANT! No structure should be installed on your foundation before the concrete foundation has had a minimum curing process of (2) two weeks.
- A perforated French drain covered with a 3/4" stone bed should line the perimeter of the foundation footing. (If presences of mature trees are close to the foundation, the drain should be covered with a membrane.)
