EXCAVATIONS

The excavation of a home addition in some cases can become a challenging venture with difficulties to overcome, which can affect the cost of your project in the west island. What is the composition of the earth (rocks, clay..)? Is the area being excavated easily accessible? Are there any mature trees to remove?
Here are a few important points to take note of before digging:

  • Verify the site for buried wires, pipes, gas lines, etc...belonging to different utility companies. Verify that your contractor has received the document that states the site has been surveyed.

  • You might want to reassess with your general contractor, the path used by the heavy equipment, in order that you may be fully aware of the landscaping costs you will encumber.

  • If there are any mature trees on the area being excavated, you will need to apply for a city permit to be able to remove them.
